Who flew the 44
The 44 had no Launch customer. Canadair built the prototype on its own risk.
Only three customers ever ordered new CL44 aircraft. The forth customer to operate new CL44's, Loftleidir, bought aircraft that had been built and pre financed by Canadair and the Canadian Government.
